Better knowledge for the prevention of food intolerances and effective intervention concepts [15.07.21]
"It is frightening that about a third of the European population complains now about food intolerances, although it is often unclear what are the reasons behind," explains Prof. Stephan Bischoff from the Institute of Nutritional Medicine at the University of Hohenheim. Together with three other Hohenheim scientists and colleagues from Lübeck and Borstel, this problem is going to be tackled.
Press Release of the University of Lübeck (consortium lead)
An interdisciplinary research consortium with researchers from the Universities of Lübeck, Hohenheim and the Leibniz Lung Centre in Borstel is looking for new insights and a better understanding of food intolerances to develop effective prevention and intervention concepts. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports the "INDICATE-FH" ("ImproviNg DIagnostiCs And ThErapy of Food Hypersensitivity") project with roundabout three million Euros from 2021-2024.
