Prof. Kügler becomes part of the FDA initiative "The Living Heart Project" [14.12.16]
A Translational Research Initiative to Revolutionize Cardiovascular Science Through Realistic Simulation

By employing mathematical algorithms, Prof. Kügler aims to simulate the effect of drugs on cardiac activity in order to predict possible side effects in advance. His bifurcation model, which is currently designed for individual cardiac muscle cells, will be further developed in the frame of the "Living Heart Project" to be a suitable tool for modelling the complete heart. Being part of the exclusive circle of the "Living Heart Project" which includes scientists, industry, physicians and authorities, this vision only seems only a heart beat away.
