The PREZODE “PREventing ZOonotic Disease Emergence” initiative was launched as part of the 4th edition of the One Planet Summit, by the French President with the support of the European Commission presidency and in line with the Tripartite + International Organisations.

The overall goal of the PREZODE initiative is to prevent emerging pandemic risks from animals while insuring food security and livelihood for the poorest communities, while strengthening cooperation within and between several regions of the world that are facing high risks of zoonotic disease emergence. It will catalyze joint operational actions and research components to better understand and reduce the risks and to improve surveillance and early warning systems, adapted to local socio-economic contexts, in co-construction with local actors and decision-makers, especially in high-risk areas.
